Welcome to Sandcastles Childcare and Learning Center!

Sandcastles believes in a child centric approach to early education, following the lead of the students and exploring alongside each child as they grow and learn.  We wonder, we investigate, we play, and most importantly we listen. Our staff offer safe, supportive environments designed to foster self-esteem, creativity, and an early love of learning.  The children at Sandcastles are encouraged to explore, try new skills, make messes, and make lots of mistakes.  We believe that when a child feels safe, secure, and nurtured their potential is limitless.

Our goal is to understand the children in our care as individuals and work alongside the children and their families to create a culture that celebrates the individual while working to create an inclusive community. The school strives to meet the needs of all families and seeks to reflect diversity within the community. To this end, all are encouraged to apply, and the center accepts children without regard to race, creed, cultural heritage, religion, abilities, sexual orientation, parents’ marital status, natural origin or political beliefs. Underlying the center’s philosophy is a strong recognition of each family’s needs and values. The center works in partnership with each family’s child-rearing philosophies and unique cultural needs.               Our center’s policies support a healthy and safe environment that understands that each child experiences the world at their own pace and with respect to their ever-changing needs. We provide ample outside time and opportunities to rest and re-set. We believe that healthy children are most open to new learning experiences and work to enforce a wellness policy that keeps our Center as healthy as possible.

Parent Testimonials

Both of our children started at Sandcastles as infants. Our oldest is now in elementary school, and we credit Sandcastles for his readiness for kindergarten. This is because Sandcastles provides a well-rounded experience; our kids have learned social-emotional and self-care skills right alongside language, art, and STEM. Sandcastles is where our children began to love school and embrace a routine outside of our home. Most importantly, throughout our years at Sandcastles, our children have been treated like unique individuals and the teachers in every classroom have a passion for early education - creating a safe, loving, and fun environment! From 5 months to 5 years, Sandcastles has been out partner for literally every milestone!

We can’t say enough good things about Sandcastles. They truly are like family - the staff and teachers are so kind, loving and supportive and we are incredibly grateful to be part of this special community. We have been so impressed by the staffs communication, especially throughout the pandemic, and the care and creativity that the teachers bring to the classroom daily. Our daughter has the biggest smile on her face when we tell her in the morning she gets to go to school that day and that, in itself, is a joy to see! Thank you Sandcastles!!

We were fortunate to find Sandcastles when we moved down to the South Shore.  I was a nervous first time mom, knowing no one in the area.  When we enrolled our oldest as an infant we were overwhelmed by the sense of community and caring Sandcastles brings not only for the child, but the whole family.  Every staff member and teacher is so Kind, patient and creative. The community offered us a true sense of belonging.  We now have two children enrolled at “the castle”.  I can not say enough about each program, infant through pre-k. My children are exquisitely cared for, thoughtfully educated and most importantly Surrounded by a community that prioritizes friendship and inclusion.  Sandcastles is a true extension of our family values and I am so proud to watch my children grow up there.

Stacey, Preschool and Toddler Parent September 2021

We moved to the South Shore during the pandemic and with the support of our teachers and the leadership at Sandcastles, we quickly and successfully adapted our toddler into his new community. The transition was smooth and we instantly felt very comfortable. Our son began thriving immediately and hitting and exceeding his milestones while making new friends and (adorable) memories. When we rave about Sandcastles we always mention the huge variety and quality of academic and fun activities the kids get to do each day. The teachers really go above and beyond creatively to make sure the kids are having fun while learning. We absolutely love the very special summer program with all the outdoor activities, themes, events, and special visitors. Especially in these difficult times, we are grateful for the safe, loving, and welcoming Sandcastles community and are happy we found such a wonderful home for our son as he grows up.

We have been part of the Sandcastles family since 2014 when our first child was born, and the word family really could not be more appropriate for how we feel about everyone involved with this truly special place.  Over the course of our nearly ten years here, we have become part of a wonderful, inclusive community of educators, children, parents and friends.  While we will be so sad to leave when our youngest starts Kindergarten this Fall, we know that she will thrive there, just like our oldest before her, because of the strong social, emotional and educational foundation she received at Sandcastles.

As a first time mother, I remember feeling very apprehensive to entrust my infant with anyone else, but very quickly realized how much he—and we as parents—benefitted from the nurturing environment provided by his loving and experienced teachers. As our children have grown from tiny infant “minnows” all the way to big pre-k “dolphins,” at each stage our   expectations have been exceeded in terms of how much our children have learned and matured, both academically and socially/emotionally.    The teachers here are passionate, kind and dedicated, as are our wonderful directors.  Continuing education for teachers is always ongoing and workshops where parents can learn and collaborate are a huge plus as well.

We truly feel privileged that our children have grown up in this safe, loving, stimulating and fun environment and cannot recommend it enough!
