Mo, a graduate of the University of New Hampshire,  joined Sandcastles in September of 2002 after teaching preschool and kindergarten in New Hampshire for three years. She originally joined our staff as the Pre-K teacher and program director and eventually took over as center director.  In 2012 Mo made the very difficult decision to step away from teaching and directing to spend time with her growing family. Happily she returned as director in 2017.  She brings with her 20 plus years of early education experience and a love of learning.  As a working mom herself, her goal is to create a cohesive home/school connection and works with families and children to provide a happy, safe, and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.

Ms. Brittany

Ms. Brittany is one of the Co-Directors at Sandcastles. She works M, T, W, and Th. She grew up in a small town in Iowa but moved to the South Shore and started working at Sandcastles in 2009.

Ms. Brittany has worked in the childcare field since 1999. Her experience ranges in age from infants through School Age. "My favorite thing about working with young children is watching them figure things out for the first time and seeing their reaction when they can do something by themselves for the first time."

Ms. Brittany enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews. She loves watching college sports and cheering for her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Ms. Brittany also enjoys planting and maintaining the Sandcastles garden in the spring and summer months and traveling around to experience all New England has to offer. 

Minnows Teacher

Ms. Megan

Ms. Megan joined the Sandcastles team in 2012 but has been in the childcare field since she was 16. She has worked with children ages infant through kindergarten. Ms Megan is the Minnows teacher and her favorite part of working with infants (as well as other aged children) is watching each individual child develop every day from the little things such as sitting up on their own to reading a book on their own. 

Ms. Megan loves being with her family and friends. She has many nieces and nephews and loves going to Rockport with them. She also enjoys spending time in Grafton, New Hampshire with her boyfriend. She loves watching the Boston sports teams especially the Bruins.

Ms. Sandra

Ms. Sandra has her associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has been working with children for over 20 years, aging from 6 weeks to 6 years old. She loves to watch the children thrive and explore through play. 
      Ms. Sandra spends her free time with her husband and two children at different sports activities. She also likes to go up to New Hampshire, to ride bikes,  to be on the water, and to go for walks. She is so happy to be back working at Sandcastles.

Ms. Ann is excited to join the Sandcastles team as a floating aide. She made the switch from working in the field of insurance to childcare two years ago. “Being part of the children's learning and developing new skills is truly rewarding.” Ms. Ann and her husband Paul have three sons and a daughter. She spent many years at home raising them when they were young. During that time, she also worked part-time in the public school system in Marshfield where she lives. In her free time, she loves to cook, go on nature walks, and attend all of the activities and sporting events of her children.

Ms. Sara is one of our Infant teachers.  She has been working in childcare since 2015. She has worked with children ages 15 months to 6 years old.  "I knew I wanted to work with children when I was a young girl. It is my passion.  My favorite thing about teaching is all of the sweet hugs and their smiles when they learn to do something they've been working so hard on."  Ms. Sara loves to spend time with her husband, her close friends, and her family.  She loves to watch movies, read, and listen to music.

Ms. Melissa originally started at sandcastles back in 2021 on the toddler side but left to work as a social worker technician at the department of children and family services. After deciding that was not the career for her she came back in September 2023 excited to start on the infant side. She discovered her love of working with kids when she was 13 by babysitting her 2 nieces every week. Her favorite part about working with kids is how they discover something new almost everyday and watching them grow. In her free time Melissa loves to read, spend time with her friends and family, and go on long walks to tire out her crazy dog!

Ms Kerri joined the Sandcastles staff in September 2021. She attended Quincy College where she studied Early Childhood Education. Kerri knew she wanted to work with children after growing up with seven brothers and sisters and then having many nieces and nephews. Her favorite part of working at Sandcastles is forming bonds with the children. She loves to have fun and make them laugh while learning at the same time. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends or relaxing at the beach with a good book.

Ms. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in psychology and spent 4 years working in special education before joining The Department of Children and Families as a social worker. Kristin joined Sandcastles in 2019 and loves spending time with the youngest members of the Sandcastles family and watching them learn new skills and interact with each other. When not snuggling the little ones at Sandcastles Ms. Kristin spends her time with her children and husband at various sports and activities and with her friends.

Ms. Cori started at Sandcastles in September 2022. She has been working in childcare since 2019 working with all ages from infants to PreK and is currently enrolled in Fisher College to get her teacher certificate. Her favorite part about working with young children is seeing them get so excited when they learn something new. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her friends and family, taking her dog for walks and reading.

Hi, my name is Heather and I’m so excited to be back teaching at Sandcastles! I am the floating teacher in the toddler classrooms. I’ve been teaching since the 1990s after graduating from Quincy College. I’m a mom of two grown sons and looking forward to my future daughter-in-law joining our family! In my spare time, I enjoy the Patriots and the Bruins. I also love to travel! I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach and watch your children grow.

Ms. Courtney is one of our wonderful Sea Otters teachers here at Sandcastles. She joined our staff in 2015.   

Courtney graduated in 2010 from Silverlake High School with her certificate in teaching.  

Ms. Courtney loves seeing the children's smiling faces when they learn something new, and how happy they get at the smallest things. During her free time, she enjoys going to the movies, hanging with her friends, and playing with her two dogs.

Ms. Alex started at Sandcastles in the Summer of 2016. She graduated high school in 2017 and is attending school at Bridgewater State University to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. 

Working at Sandcastles has helped her gain experience and figure out that she has a passion for working with children. It has helped her decide what she wants to do in the future. 

In her free time, she enjoys doing All-Star Cheerleading and being with her family.

Ms. Tayla started working at Sandcastles in October 2018. She started working with the infants but has now moved to teaching our Toddler/Preschool classroom. She grew up in Marshfield and moved to Scituate Harbor in 2018. Before working at Sandcastles she had never worked in a childcare setting but has always loved taking care of children. She contributes this to having 6 younger siblings. "I love seeing and being a part of children's learning and growing. Watching and helping them learn and master new skills daily is such a joy to be a part of."

Ms. Ashley

Ms. Ashley is one of our amazing teachers in the young toddler classroom. Ashley joined the Sandcastles team in March 2014. She started as a floater and then found her place in the Sea Horse room in June. You will find Ms. Ashley at Sandcastles Tuesday-Friday from 7:00-5:30. 

Ashley graduated from Silver Lake in 2010 with her teacher certificate. She has experience working with children from young toddlers to preschool age. Outside of Sandcastles Ashley spends time with her family and friends. Her favorite part of teaching is watching children explore things for the first time and seeing their reactions.

Ms. Rute immigrated to the United States from Brazil in 2002, working diligently to learn English and become an American citizen. She joined Sandcastles in 2021 as a whole-building aide and quickly found a home with our toddlers.  Her energy and playfulness are a great match for our little learners, as is her understanding of the importance of language.  In addition to working with small children, Rute also is licensed as a Home Health Aide and works with the elderly on weekends.

Ms. Sue has been in early childhood education for over 20 years. She has worked with children ages eight weeks to five years old and is lead-certified with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Some of the things she loves about working with young children are witnessing moments of wonder and joy as they learn through their play. She knows this helps to instill a love of learning. She enjoys watching as they begin to solve their own problems and express their creativity. She is passionate about helping children develop strong social-emotional skills and especially in helping to foster confidence in themselves.

She lives with her husband, two children, and a dog in Abington. She has a love for the outdoors, including camping. She enjoys a good book, going for walks, spending time with family and friends, and sitting on her deck watching wildlife in the summer months.

Ms. Ann has been working as an Early Childhood teacher for over 30 years with children ages two through Kindergarten. 

Singing, literacy, fun with American Sign Language, learning through exploring, and enjoying a sense of classroom community are some of her favorite things about teaching.

"Hearing children's laughter and being part of their day-to-day simple joys means the world to me." 

Ann and her husband live in Weymouth. She has a son who lives away at college. In her free time, she enjoys walking, reading, relaxing at the beach with friends and family, and hunting for hidden treasures.

Ms. Laurie graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked in a preschool/ Pre-Kindergarten setting for over 25 years.  "Teaching is my passion, it is such a rewarding profession. To see the look of pride on a child's face as they master new skills is incredible to be a part of!" 

While in college Ms. Laurie also majored in Spanish and she loves to incorporate Spanish vocabulary into her classroom curriculum. "Children are true sponges! They never cease to amaze me with how much they take away from each new experience." 

In addition to her teaching hat, Ms. Laurie wears many others. She is a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She loves reading, vacationing, going to the beach, and supporting all of Boston's great sports teams.

Ms. Melinda and I started working at Sandcastles in 2015. "It truly has been a joy to watch the children grow from infants to pre-k graduation day! We learn so much from kids too!"  She graduated with her degree in Early childhood education in 1997. She has been married for 30 years with two amazing young adult children; her son is 30 and her daughter is 25. She enjoys working, camping, reading, puzzles, beach time at their cottage, family time, and shopping.

Ms. Jen is one of our fabulous Dolphin Room teachers. She has been here at Sandcastles since 2006 and has worked in the early childhood field for over 20 years. She graduated from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She started teaching Kindergarten right after college and has been teaching Kindergarten or Kindergarten Prep since receiving her degree. She loves being part of and watching the children as they prepare for their public school experience. The sad part is having to say goodbye to them as they move on to their new "big" school. 

Ms. Jen and her husband have two children, their son graduated from Sandcastles in 2014 and their daughter graduated in 2018. Family is important to Jen and she enjoys spending time with family and friends. The beach is her happy place and she tries to visit as often as she can.

Jo has just graduated from the Commonwealth School and is currently taking a gap year. They love working with kids and have been helping out with youth sports teams and peer tutoring throughout their time in high school. They will be attending CU Boulder to major in History come Fall 2024. 

Seeing kids learn about the world and gain confidence and independence is one of Jo's favorite parts about working as an aide. "They're new to this world and to get to support them as they figure out who they are is a great honor." 

In their free time, Jo is an avid musician who loves to attend local concerts and practice their many instruments. They also have two cats, Artemis and Apollo, whom Jo loves spending time with.

Ms. Brooke joined Sandcastles in February 2023 as a floating Aide. She has her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Masters Degree in Reading. She has worked with a range of ages of children over many years. She took some time away from the classroom to stay home with her two children when they were young but is excited to be back working. In her free time, Ms. Brooke enjoys playing with her children and watching them participate in activities and sports. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Reese is currently a Junior at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. She went to Sandcastles when she was younger and is so happy to be back. She is an older sister to a brother who also attended Sandcastles. She has babysat since a young age and also is a student teacher at her dance studio, she loves hanging out with kids of all ages. Reese is a dancer and runs track at her school, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. She works at Sandcastles year-round and loves the community!

Ms. Julia is currently a Senior at Cohasset High School. She went to Sandcastles when she was younger where she met many friends that she still keeps in touch with today. She returned to Sandcastles because she wanted to give other kids the same enjoyable experiences and memories she had made when she was younger. "I love to help the kids learn and they teach me new things in return." In her free time, Julia likes to hang out with friends and play soccer.

Ms. Maddy is a Senior at North Quincy High School. You will see her mostly during the summer. She is an upcoming soccer captain and also plays lacrosse. Additionally, she is part of the pre-medical careers club at her school. She is an alumni of Sandcastles herself! Her mother, Ms. Laurie, sparked her love for working with kids. She is so happy to be part of the Sandcastles family!

 Ms. Delilah is a Senior at Abington High School and is one of our summer aides. She lived in Hawaii for a few years and loved learning outside. She has always been interested in working with children, and she hopes to become a pediatric surgeon when she grows up. She also is a dance teacher for 6 and 7-year-olds and has worked with the ages of 6 months to 8 years old. She is very excited to be working with all ages of children at the school.

 Ms. Lindsey joined the Sandcastles staff in May of 2023. She will be graduating from Merrimack College in May with a degree in Education. "I have always know I want to work with children from a very young age. Being one of four children is where it all started."  Ms. Lindsey has been babysitting and working in elementary schools for years. She loves helping kids learn and watching them grow, she says it's the best feeling. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family and friends, got to the beach, and travel.
