Mo, a graduate of the University of New Hampshire,  joined Sandcastles in September of 2002 after teaching preschool and kindergarten in New Hampshire for three years. She originally joined our staff as the Pre-K teacher and program director and eventually took over as center director.  In 2012 Mo made the very difficult decision to step away from teaching and directing to spend time with her growing family. Happily she returned as director in 2017.  She brings with her 20 years of early education experience and a love of learning.  As a working mom herself, her goal is to create a cohesive home/school connection and works with families and children to provide a happy, safe, and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.

Sea Turtles Teacher

Ms. Brittany


Ms. Brittany is the Center Assistant and the Sea Turtles teacher at Sandcastles. She works M, T, W, Th. She grew up in a small town in Iowa, but moved to the South Shore and started working at Sandcastles in 2009.

Ms. Brittany has worked in the childcare field since 1999. Her past experience ranges in ages infants through School Age, but she has found her niche in the Sea Turtles classroom. "My favorite thing about working with young children is watching them figure things out for the first time and seeing their reaction when they are able to do something by themselves for the first time."

Ms. Brittany enjoys spending time with her friends and family especially her nieces and nephews. She loves watching college sports and cheering for her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Ms. Brittany also enjoys planting and maintaining the Sandcastles garden in the spring and summer months and traveling around experiencing all New England has to offer.

Ms. Megan

Ms. Megan joined the Sandcastles team in 2012 but has been in the childcare field since she was 16. She has worked with children ages infant through kindergarten. Ms Megan is the Minnows teacher and her favorite part of working with infants (as well as other aged children) is watching each individual child develop each and every day from the little things such as sitting up on their own to reading a book on their own. 

Ms. Megan loves being with her family and friends. She has many nieces and nephews and loves going to Rockport with them. She also enjoys spending time in Grafton, New Hampshire with her boyfriend. She loves watching the Boston sports teams especially the Bruins.

Ms. Lori


Ms. Lori has worked at Sandcastles for 20 years as an infant teacher.  Her love and understanding of our littlest people is amazing. She is truly a resource for new parents! Lori's favorite part of working with infants is being part of the very first learning experience of our students.  When not snuggling babies Lori enjoys spending time with her son and daughter and extended family.

Ms. Tayla


Ms. Tayla started working at Sandcastles in October 2018. She is a teacher in our Sea Star classroom.  When she has free time she likes to spend it with her friends and family which includes her 3 younger sisters and 3 younger brothers. Tayla can't wait to work with all of your children.

Sea Horses Teacher

Ms. Ashley


Ms. Ashley is one of our teachers in the young toddler classroom. She has almost ten years of experience working with children. Ashley joined the Sandcastles team in March 2014. She started as a floater then found her place in the Sea Horse room in June. You will find Ms. Ashley at Sandcastles Tuesday-Friday from 7:00-5:30. 

Ashley graduated from Silver Lake in 2010 with her teacher certificate. She has experience working with children from young toddler to preschool age. Outside of Sandcastles Ashley spends time with her family and friends. Her favorite part of teaching is watching children explore things for the first time and seeing their reactions.

Ms. Melissa


Ms. Melissa started working at Sandcastles in February of 2021 in the Sea Horse room. She began working with children when her first niece was born in 2011 when Melissa was just 12, and she has loved it ever since. In her free time, Ms. Melissa can’t stop watching Criminal Minds. This led to her love of criminal justice, which she currently studies at Massasoit Community College and plans on continuing at Bridgewater State University next Fall.

Ms. Courtney


Ms. Courtney is one of our Sea Otters teachers here at Sandcastles. She has been working with children for 10 years and has been at Sandcastles for over 2 years now. You can find her in all areas of the school. She works Monday- Friday 7:30-5:30. Along with working at the center she also babysits. 

Courtney graduated in 2010 from Silverlake Highschool with her certificate in teaching.  There she worked with children and learned how to run a classroom. She worked with the children for 3 years and studied child behavior and development. 

Ms. Courtney loves seeing the children's smiling faces when they learn something new, and how happy they get at the smallest things. During her free time she enjoys going to the movies, hanging with her friends, and playing with her two dogs. 

Sea Otters Teacher

Ms. Katie

Ms. Katie joined the Sandcastles community in March of 2020.  Prior to that she ran an in-home licensed daycare for 15 years.  She is the mother of 3 children, a 25 year old daughter and twin 20 year old sons.  Ms. Katie and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family; especially on the beach or boat.  Her favorite part of working with children is seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter.

Miss Alissa


Alissa has been in the childcare field for 3 years she joined the Sandcastles team in January 2021. She has worked with infants, toddlers (her favorite age group) and preschool. Ever since Alissa was younger she’s always dreamt of being a teacher. She went to Anna Maria college to study early childhood education and is now enrolled at Bristol Community college studying the same thing! In her free time, Alissa likes to spend time with her friends and family and spend time with her cat as well.

Ms. Melinda

Ms. Melinda joined our Sandcastles family August of 2015. She completed her degree in Early Childhood Education at Psychology at Quincy College and UMass Boston in 1997. This will be her 23rd year of teaching preschool. Melinda has always wanted to work in the teaching field ever since she was young. She started off being a teachers helper, a summer camp aide, and even worked in youth group[s. "Teaching is such a rewarding, fun job. To see the amazement and look of excitement in a child's face from learning something new or old. We learn a lot from children too."

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband of 28 years and two adult children.  They love the great outdoors!

Ms. Ann has been working as an Early Childhood teacher for 30 years with children ages two through Kindergarten. 

Singing, literacy, fun with American Sign Language, learning through exploring, and enjoying a sense of classroom community are some of her favorite things about teaching.

"Hearing children's laughter and being part of their day-to-day simple joys means the world to me." 

Ann and her husband live in Weymouth. She has a son who lives away at college. In her free time she enjoys walking, reading, relaxing at the beach with friends and family, and hunting for hidden treasures.

Ms. Laurie has graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1995 with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked in a preschool/ Pre-Kindergarten setting for over 25 years, 12 of which have been at Sandcastles. "Teaching is my passion, it is such a rewarding profession. To see the look of pride on a child's face as they master new skills is incredible to be a part of!" 

While in college Ms. Laurie also majored in Spanish and she loves to incorporate Spanish vocabulary into her classroom curriculum. "Children are true sponges! They never cease to amaze me on how much they take away from each new experience." 

In addition to her teaching hat, Ms. Laurie wears many others. She is a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She loves reading, vacationing, going to the beach, and supporting all of Boston's great sports teams. 


Ms. Heather joined the Sandcastles team in February 2018 as a teacher in the Sea Turtles classroom. After working in the middle school setting for eleven years she is looking forward to coming back to the preschool age children.

Ms. Heather has two grown sons and enjoys reading, traveling, and Boston sports. 

Dolphins Teacher

Ms. Jen

Ms. Jen is the Dolphin Room teacher. She has been here at Sandcastles since 2006 and has worked in the early childhood field for over 20 years. She graduated Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She started teaching Kindergarten right after graduation and has been teaching that age ever since. She loves being part of and watching the children as they become prepared for their public school experience. The sad part is having to say goodbye to them as they move on to their new "big" school. 

Ms. Jen and her husband have two children, their son graduated Sandcastles in 2014 and their daughter has been at Sandcastles since she was 3 months old. Family is important to her and she enjoys spending time with family and friends. The beach is her happy place and she tries to visit as often as she can. 

Dolphins Teacher 

Ms. Crystal


Ms. Crystal joined the Sandcastles team in August 2019. She lives in Hull with her husband, her 7 year old son, and 5 year old daughter. She has 7 years experience in early childhood education working with infants through school aged children. She earned her Preschool Teachers Certificate through Massasoit Community College. When her children were born Crystal took a break from teaching so she could spend more time with them while they were young. “I am so happy to be back doing what I love now and excited for the many years to come working at Sandcastles.”  Her favorite part of working with kids is helping they lean and prepare for their next big stop in growing. “I learn just as much from them as they do from me.” In her spare time she likes to read books, sketch, and cook as well as spending time with her husband and two children.

Ms. Kristin


Ms. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in psychology and spent 4 years working in special education before joining The Department of Children and Families and working there for 5 years. She then made the decision to spend time with her family and for the past 5 years has been home caring for her 3 children. Ms. Kristin spends her time away from work with her children and husband at various sports and activities and with her friends. She loves spending time with the youngest members of the Sandcastles family and watching them learn new skills and interact with each other.

Ms. Alex started at Sandcastles in the Summer of 2016. She graduated high school in 2017 and is attending school at Bridgewater State University  to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. 

Working at Sandcastles has helped her gain experience and figure out that she has a passion for working with children. It has helped her decide what she wants to do in the future. 

In her free time she enjoys doing All Star Cheerleading and being with her family. 

Ms. Sophie 

Floating Teacher


Miss Sophie is currently working part time at Sandcastles in the Sea Stars room. She graduated from Weymouth High-school in 2018 with her infant-preschool teacher certification. She has been working with children since early 2013 and has experience with all ages. She currently is attending classes at Quincy College and will be transferring to Bridgewater to finish her degree in Elementary Education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks/hikes and yoga! Her favorite part of teaching, is when a child develops a goal they have  been working hard to reach. It is an amazing feeling to actually know that you are making an helping impact on the child’s development and growing!

Big Charlie


Big Charlie started at Sandcastles in April 2019 as a Floating Aide. He is a Senior at North Quincy High School where he enjoys learning history and math, and plays hockey for the schools varsity team. Charlie really enjoys working with children and is wanting to pursue a career in the Education field when he goes to college. He is really looking forward to working with the children at Sandcastles this summer and during school breaks.

Miss Caitlin just recently joined the Sandcastles family in May 2019.She is so excited to work with the kids all throughout the summer and after school! She is a Junior at Cohasset High School. However, she learned everything she knows from her own experience at Sandcastles as a preschooler in 2005. She has had an amazing experience at Sandcastles both as a student and now as a teacher. Her favorite part of teaching is knowing that the children can experience the core values of learning that they will take with them through their school career. In her free time she likes to hang out at the beach with her friends.
